Mobile network operator O2 has decided to extend its deadline to 10pm for next day delivery. Customers can now place orders through the O2 online store for both phones and tablets up until the later time and still get free next day delivery.
By extending the delivery deadline until 10pm, O2 has said it is preparing to expect over 3,000 customers to be able to benefit from earlier deliveries each week. The new deadline applies to orders which are placed through the online store which are in stock at the time that the order is placed.
Tete Soto, O2’s General Manager for the online division said that the company understands convenience and urgency are key factors when a customer is shopping online, as customers want to be able to enjoy their new devices as soon as possible.
“Traditionally, a 10pm order deadline has been limited to a handful of retailers especially in fashion, and we are proud to be the first in our industry to offer this level of service, addressing the importance that customers place in having options that fit around their lifestyle”
It remains to be seen whether other mobile phone retailers will follow in O2’s footsteps and set their delivery deadline to later.
